we leveled together in the first few months of Legion and
have many funny stories about that ordeal; Warlords of
Draenor is just full of small moments like that which made
the expansion fun for us, even with the content drought. The
days go by and the likelihood of his return diminishes, the
chances of making new memories in Legion are reduced.
While I am making new memories with my new guild and
friends, I worry about the old ones fading. Will he become
like the nameless members of <Relax>, echoes of good
times imprinted in the landscape of an MMO? I hope not,
but time is uncaring in his consumption of history.
Everything starts and everything ends, while this may be
the bedrock principle of life the second truth of existence
is that it comes in cycles. Each ending comes with a new
beginning. The end of this year has heralded the start of the
next one. Warlords of Draenor faded as Legion enveloped
us, and one day Legion too will make way for the next
expansion. Time moves on, and so do we. The Nighthold
has be opened and guilds are eagerly working their way to
Gul’dan, excited to have something new after the Emerald
Nightmare and Trial of Valor. Even as I write this a new
patch, 7.2, has been released on the PTR; new content,
new models, new appearances, new lore, new dungeons
and raids. A surge of excitement pulses through the
community as already the new year brings opportunities
for new beginnings. I am looking forward to delving into all
this, and can’t help but feel as invigorated as I did when I
first started playing the game. I feel as though a new era of
World of Warcraft has begun for me, and for my guild.
However there will always be the Teluuna Observatory,
my friend. So until the stars intersect our paths once again:
Dioniss Aca.
