before. WoW had not been naughty, it had just disappointed
me like ever before and I couldn’t see a way back.
When I first heard about Legion I was intrigued, but
very sceptical. I have always loved the lore behind the
game since way back when I played Warcraft II. The
Burning Legion stories have always been a favourite
of mine and I love Illidan. When I saw that the whole
expansion was about this I started to feel that spark again.
Was WoW trying to get me back? It was like a promise
of the good old days coming back again. However, my
sceptical head remained firmly in place until the game
was released and I read the articles and the reviews.
After seeing the positive press I took the plunge and
ordered Legion, hoping that WoW wouldn’t let me down
again. I was not disappointed. Legion takes me back to
everything I loved about WoW back in the early days. It’s
not just the lore that reminds me of TBC but the entire
expansion. The storylines are well thought out, the quests
variable and the zones visually stunning. WoW has upped it’s
game and given me not just flowers but chocolates as well.
It has been an utter delight to level in Legion. I have
really enjoyed the class changes that have made my
formerly clunky Shadow Priest a master of face melting.
The new Insanity system makes her feel more like a Rogue
in playstyle, but it works so well. I have also loved playing
my Demon Hunter. The initial storyline was absorbing and
amazing fun. It flowed seamlessly into the new zones and
class quests; and the class is enjoyable to play. Despite
being terrible at melee I survived pretty well and I loved the
mechanics. I would even go so far as to say it’s my favourite
of the classes introduced since vanilla. It is more defined
than I find the face rolling DK and less fiddly than the Monk.
It looks good and it feels good, just like my affair with WoW.
With Legion, WoW has wooed me once again.The
dailies are a breath of fresh air offering a huge and varied
selection to choose from. The Class Halls are an awesome
addition giving me a homely feeling without the isolation
a Garrison brought and the new zones are just amazing.
Both visually and audibly, Legion really delivers. I’ve loved
the dungeons and I am excited to hit up the raids. I’m in
no rush though this time around as I’m still enjoying just
exploring the vast wealth of content Legion has offered me.
Well played Legion, you gave me back
the game I fell in love with. Now it’s my turn
to do the chores and it will be a joy.
